15 Jan - Yeovil Open Show. Judge: Melanie Carter (Karmeliann) BS. Gertie - 1st Graduate Dog/Bitch & BOB. Critique ... L light slate bitch with very sweet expression, excellent shoulder and rib and very free easy movement, well balanced all over. Was very pleased to award her BOB.
22 January - Manchester Champ Show. Judge: Robin Searle (Surlson) AR. Gertie - 2nd Yearling Bitch.
5 February - Southern Counties Bearded Collie Club Champ Show. Judge: Jan Wood (Pepperjay) BS. Gertie - 1st Yearling Bitch. Critique ... A good honest slate bitch of lovely type, feminine head with good eye and pigment, she is nicely angulated and has a good length of back, I liked her overall outline and she was sound on the move.
19 February - National Working & Pastoral Breeds Open Show. Judge: Linda Evans (Pattishawl) BS. Gertie - 1st Graduate Dog/Bitch. Critique ... very smart, balanced young lady, really appealed to me, super head, affectionate eye, good bite, mid slate correct textured coat, good proportions, short strong hocks, her movement was positive and effortless.
11 March - CRUFTS. Judge: Maureen Betts (Pipadene) BS. Gertie - 2nd Special Yearling Bitch. Critique ... very feminine head with pleasing eye and pigment, strong arched neck onto well laid shoulders, chest deep and well sprung, pleasing rear end with strong hocks providing good positive movement.
2 April - Bearded Collie Club Open Show. Judge: Karen Edwards (Roxilyn) BS. Ellis - 4th Open Bitch.
25 April - Eastern Bearded Collie Association Champ Show. Judge: Britt-Marie E Young (Farouche) AR. Gertie - 1st Yearling Bitch, Ellis - 3rd Mid Limit Bitch.
1 May - WELKS Champ Show. Judge: Barry Wiggins (Scapafield) BS. Gertie - 1st Yearling Bitch. Critique ... well made and so feminine with pleasing head, good neck, level topline and balanced angulation, in ideal coat, moved soundly with style. Humbug - 3rd Minor Puppy Dog. Critique ... giving away 2 months to 1 which as expected showed in his development. Promising head, length of neck and balanced angulation. Had fun on the move making it hard to assess but time will improve.
5 May - Birmingham National Champ Show. Judge: Alan Stevens (Whistbrae) BS. Humbug - 2nd Minor Puppy and Puppy Dog. Critique ... just 6 months and showing plenty of promise, particularly liked his expression and pigmentation, just needs to settle when moving, but time is on his side.
What a day ... 14 May - Redditch & DCS Open Show. Breed Judge: Adrian Millington (Alfsden) AR. Group Judge: Chris Thomas (Nosferatu) AR. BIS Judge: Alan Archer (Squirelsdray) BS. Humbug - 1st BC Puppy D/B, BPIB, PG1. Critique ... slate grey dog, 6 months, a steady puppy, size ratios were good and just the right amount of weight for age, size and build, liked his well proportioned head which was correct, good strong muzzle, nice broad flat skull, ear and eye placement was perfect and liked his expression, nice reach, of neck, and good length of rib, tightly coupled. His front and rear assembly was good but was a little loose on the move. An exceptional puppy who just needs time to grow and develop, based on his make and shape his movement will improve in time. Gertie - 1st Post Graduate D/B, BOB, G1 and Reserve Best In Show. Critique ... slate grey bitch, an exceptionally sound bitch all round. Liked her size, make and shape, good strong head, well proportioned perfectly placed eyes and ears, good dentition and strong muzzle, nice length to neck, well constructed front assembly, good depth and length of rib, tightly coupled, good rear angulation, long tail and when moved held her topline perfectly. To be honest I could not find any exaggerations or faults and hope she continues to mature.

Critique: Really liked this bitch. She has good breed type. Bright, alert and rather cheeky expression with dark eyes. She has a good foreface and correct underjaw. Nice neck and topline. Correct angulation at both ends. Straight forelegs. She has a calm temperament. Moved out very well and handled with empathy. I understand this was her final JW point. I am so pleased for her owner.
